  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup dried cherry
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 150 ml scotch whiskey
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dried dates
  • 1/2 cup dried figs
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoon juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 cup butter
  • 100 gm almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup flaked almonds
  • 4 egg

How to make Make and Mature Cake

  • Step 1 Set pan on medium flame

    To prepare this amazing Christmas cake, take a large bowl and add the dry fruits (dried cranberries, cherries, dates, and figs) in a bowl, along with lemon juice-zest, orange juice-zest, and scotch whisky. Heat it over medium flame for some time and add butter and brown sugar.

  • Step 2 Boil the ingredients.

    Mix everything lightly and let it come to a boil. Then let it simmer for 5 minutes more on low flame. Once done, set it aside.

  • Step 3 Preheat the oven.

    Now, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius degrees. In the meantime, take a baking tray place a parchment paper, and set aside.

  • Step 4 Prepare the cake batter.

    In a separate bowl, use a sieve and add all-purpose flour, almond flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon powder. Next, add vanilla extract, flaked almonds, eggs, and the previously prepared fruit mixture. Mix well until everything is combined well.

  • Step 5 Bake the cake for 2 hours.

    Now, pour the cake batter into the baking tin and bake at 200 degrees Celsius for 45 minutes. Bake to perfection and allow the cake to attain room temperature.

  • Step 6 Poke some holes.

    Once done, take the cake out of the oven and poke some holes in it using a toothpick. Pour 1-2 tbsp of Scotch whisky over the cake and let it rest till completely cool.

  • Step 7 Store in an airtight container

    Once cooled down, cover the cake using a foil wrap and put it in an airtight container.

  • Step 8 Seasoning with alcohol

    Now, take it out every week till Christmas add 2 tbsp of whisky on the top, and wrap again.

    You must make this cake at least two weeks before Christmas to infuse the right flavors in it.

  • Step 10 Some more alcohol

    Take it out one last time on Christmas Eve, repeat the process of adding alcohol, and wrap it again.

    On the day of Christmas, you can decorate the cake as per your preferences. Serve it hot with warm drinks or as a dessert post-dinner.

How to make Choco Black Forest Cake

  • Step 1 Combine dry ingredients.

    In a bowl add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix the dry ingredients well.

  • Step 2 Add wet ingredients

    Now add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat until combined well.

  • Step 3 Preheat oven

    Now grease and dust three separate baking trays well. Preheat in oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 5 minutes.

  • Step 4 Bake cake in three different trays

    Once done, pour the cake batter into three different trays and bake for 20-30 minutes until done. The best way to check whether the cake is done or not is by sticking a toothpick in. If it comes out clean, your cake is ready.

  • Step 5 Prepare whipping cream.

    Now drain the cherries and reserve 1/2 cup of juice. Combine this juice, sugar, and cornstarch in a pan. Cook over low heat until it starts thickening a bit. Turn off the flame and let it cool down.

  • Step 6 Whip cream well

    Now add whipping cream to this mixture and use an electric mixer until combined well.

  • Step 7 Prepare black forest cake- layer by layer.

    Now place the bottom layer of the cake, add some whipping cream, and spread it well. Now add the second layer and again spread some cream. Now place the last layer of cake and add the remaining cream.

  • Step 8 Garnish with cherries and chocolate shavings

    You can also put the remaining cream in a pipping add and make some swirls on top. Now place the cherries on top, along with chocolate shavings.

Ingredients of Egg Bhurji Sandwich

 

  • 2 egg
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • salt as required
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 bread slices
  • 1 onion
  • 1 capsicum (green pepper)
  • 2 tablespoon coriander leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon green chutney

How to make Egg Bhurji Sandwich

  • Step 1 Whisk the eggs

    Crack open the eggs in a bowl. Add a little bit of salt and whisk well.

  • Step 2 Saute the veggies

    Heat oil in a pan. Add asafoetida, and cumin seeds and let them splutter for a few seconds. Now add chopped onion and green chili. Saute for a minute. Now add chopped tomato and capsicum. Mix and saute for 4-5 minutes.

  • Step 3 Add spices

    Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.

  • Step 4 Add the whisked egg

    Now add whisked eggs to the pan and quickly use a spatula to mix and scramble the eggs. Adjust the salt as per taste and cook the scrambled eggs until done. Finally, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and your Anda Bhurji is now ready to be stuffed in sandwiches.

  • Step 5 Make sandwiches

    Take a bread slice and spread butter on it. Spread mint chutney on another slice. Now stuff some of the Anda Bhurji in the slices to make a sandwich. If you wish, you can also grill the slices.

  • Step 6 Ready to be served

    Your Egg Bhurji is now ready to be served. Enjoy!
