Peeley Chawal Recipe
Ingredients of Peeley Chawal
- 1 cup rice
- 1 handful mixed dry fruits
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoon clove
- water as required
- 2 dashes saffron
- 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
- 2 teaspoon green cardamom
- 2 tablespoon ghee
How to make Peeley Chawal

Step 1 Soak rice for 30 minutes and then boil them with saffron
To prepare this amazing sweet rice recipe, wash and soak rice in a large bowl in water for half an hour. Then, in a deep-bottomed pan, add the soaked rice, saffron and water. Bring it to a boil and cook till the rice is almost done.

Step 2 Prepare a thin sugar syrup for rice
Meanwhile, take a small bowl with a little warm water and add the powdered sugar in it. Stir to mix well and to form a thin sugar syrup.

Step 3 Saute whole spices in ghee
Now, take a pan over medium flame and heat ghee in it. When the ghee is hot enough, add the fennel seeds, cloves, and green cardamom and saute for a few seconds.

Step 4 Add boiled rice and sugar syrup in the pan, and cook for 10 minutes
Then, add the boiled rice along with the dry fruits in the pan. Gently, mix them all well and then, pour the prepared sugar syrup in it. Stir the mixture once again gently and let the rice cook for 10 minutes with the lid closed.

Step 5 Garnish with saffron and enjoy hot
When the rice is done, transfer it to a serving bowl and garnish with saffron strings.
