Ingredients of Potato Cheela

How to make Potato Cheela

  • Step 1 Prepare the potato

Wash and peel the potato first. Now grate it well and collect it in a bowl. Add 2 cups of water to it and let the grated potato remain soaked for 15 minutes. This will help in removing the excess starch from it. After 15 mins, squeeze out the excess water and collect the potato in another bowl.

  • Step 2 Add all the ingredients and prepare a mixture

Now add all the other ingredients like chopped onion, green chili, garlic paste, black pepper powder, salt, coriander powder, cumin powder, besan, and cornflour. Mix well to prepare a mixture.

  • Step 3 Make cheetahs

Drizzle a few drops of oil on a non-stick pan and spread half of the prepared mixture on it. Spread properly to get a circular and thin cheela. Cook from both sides until golden brown. Make one more cheela with the leftover mixture.

  • Step 4 Ready to be served

Serve the Potato Cheela with tomato ketchup or green mint chutney.

Tips
  1. You can even add veggies like capsicum, carrot, cabbage, etc to make the cheela tastier.
  2. Instead of making one big cheese, you can make small baby pancakes with the mixture as well.
