Panta Bhaat Recipe
This traditional recipe hails from the Eastern part of the country, especially Odisha and Bengal, where this fermented rice is consumed to heal digestive ailments and calm the system. Ingredients of Panta Bhaat
- 1 cup basmati rice
- salt as required
- 2 onion
- 3 potato
- 1 handfuls coriander leaves
- water as required
- 3 green chilli
- 3 tablespoon mustard oil
- 3 red chilli
How to make Panta Bhaat
Step 1 Soak leftover rice
To begin with this easy recipe, soak leftover rice in water and refrigerate it overnight.
Step 2 Wash and peel the veggies
Next, to prepare the meal, wash and peel the potatoes and onions. Keep some onions for garnishing.
Step 3 Pressure cook the potatoes
Next, take a pressure cooker and add water along with potatoes for 2 whistles. Mash the potatoes.
Step 4 Add coriander leaves
Take a pan add 2 tbsp mustard oil and allow it to heat, add red chilies along with chopped onions, green chilies, salt, and red chili powder along with mashed potatoes. Cook the Aloo Chowkha and add coriander leaves.
Step 5 Assemble and enjoy
Assemble the dish by serving it with hot Aloo Chowkha, onions, mustard oil, salt, and lemon pieces. Relish the dish and cold and enjoy.

Tips
- In case the leftover rice is soaked in excess water, make sure that the excess water is removed and then relished.
